ABOUT THE CEO
Shanita Elyse Hunt (23) was born in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated in 2022 from Indiana University (IU)-Bloomington where she studied Apparel Merchandising with a concentration in Fashion Design. Shanita learned she wanted to pursue a career in fashion during her college career. She was drawn to the beauty of the fashion industry and how it reflects cultures throughout the world. “Everything we choose to wear is a representation of who we are and where we come from. That notion is what gave me a different perspective and what set this industry apart from any other industry.” Shanita views fashion as a form of communication. Through fashion, one can express their personality, use inspiration, and inspire others. The thought of becoming knowledgeable in this field and being able to have a hand in the way people dress is what drove her passion for this business.
Shanita Elyse is a Fashion Designer and CEO of Top Tier Co. Her goal is to be able to influence people through a brand that translates her passion for authenticity and inclusivity. Shanita is aiming to change the stigma behind luxury being defined by a social status and pave the way for like-minded creators who have similar aspirations. As a Black and Hispanic creator, Shanita intends to express and emphasize that our culture(s) are luxurious in their own ways. She wants younger black and Latina generations to know that there is a place for them in every part of this world, including the fashion industry, even if the majority tries to make them think otherwise. “We are not inferior and we are not secondary.
We are Luxury. We are Top Tier.”
ABOUT THE BRAND
Top Tier Co. isn’t just a clothing brand, it is a standard. One that produces superior quality and fosters confidence. Luxury is not defined by money, but your mindset and self proclamation. When you wear Top Tier, that is what you feel. A combination of Confidence and Luxury.
Top Tier Co.’s mission is to provide the aesthetic of quality and high fashion. Unfortunately, when you think about luxury brands there aren’t many minority designers that are brought up in the conversation.
Top Tier Co. brings inclusivity to the market while welcoming underrepresented races to high class luxury by providing high quality garments at affordable price points.
“ I don’t care to have my name plastered all over clothes so that people can wear it and have no idea who I am. I want people to wear my brand because it means something to them and represents who they are. Luxury.”
